Hourly 10-20 hour positions

Grader Hiring Process

  • Submit the application at Student Employment (https://students.asu.edu/employment/search)
  • Select On-Campus Jobs (grader are not required to work on campus, yes even you online students can work "on campus" for some positions.)
  • Search 77627BR (This value changes every school year, contact me if you cannot find the one mentioned here.) to find IT Grader, then “Apply to job” button (located on the bottom of the job description).

At this point you're available for any IT professor to hire. You may want to reach out to the individual instructor for classes that you have knowledge or skill-sets related for. As a general rule, Instructors will want to see your resume, grade transcripts, and want to interview you.

  • Host weekly sessions to answer student questions and elaborate on class materials. (I expect this to be 2x 1-hour sessions a week)
  • Handle specific student interactions at the discretion of the instructor. (I expect this to be about 2 hours of student interaction via class chat per week)
  • Attend weekly meetings. (These are typically ~1 hour to cover all of my classes)

What you don't do

  • Grade assignments.

Compensation

This is an stipend-based position. The stipend amount is covered by the Scholarships & Student Success office. I do not currently have any additional information on this. I'm speculating, but believe the stipend is $1000. A 15 week course at 5 hours (maximum) a week would make this roughly 13.33$/hr. I would not expect 5 hours a week every week though.
